Overview
When you cannot move forward on an issue, say so from the issue itself. Sinra puts the issue in its blocked status, asks the right person, and shows how long it has been stuck.
Declare that you are blocked
- Open the issue and choose I’m blocked in the actions on the right.
- Write why you are blocked and choose who can unblock you. Both are required.
- Confirm. The issue moves to the blocked status of its type, and a comment with your reason is posted. The person you chose is mentioned in it and the mention is marked Waiting for a reply, so it appears in their questions to answer.
The action is not offered if the issue is already blocked, finished, or if its type has no blocked status.
The badge
A badge Blocked for X days (or Blocked today) appears on kanban cards, in the lists of issues and in the cycle view. Hover it to read the reason.
Unblock
Choose Unblock on the issue. It goes back to the status it had before the block, the badge disappears, and a line in the comments records who unblocked it. Moving the issue to any other status by hand unblocks it too.
All blocked issues
Blocked issues in the Build menu lists every blocked issue of the organization, the oldest first, with its reason, the person who can unblock it and its cycle.
Only the current block is kept: past blocks are not recorded.
Moving an issue to a blocked status from the status list or by drag and drop is refused with a message: use I’m blocked, so the reason and the person who can unblock it are always recorded.
